While urging the general public to not throw animal hides and skins in public spaces on Eid-ul-Adha, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) said that the violation will lead to prosecution including fine.

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, SMC is going to collect the animal skins and hides on its own from all the municipal wards across Srinagar. It requested people in a tweet to not throw hides or related waste in public spaces.

“Srinagar Municipal Corporation is offering a dedicated service for collection of skins and hides in all wards of Srinagar city this Eid. Plz [Please] don’t throw hides or related waste in public spaces or with Municipal waste,” the tweet read.

It has also warned people that the violation will lead to prosecution including fine.

The SMC has provided the ward-wise details of vehicles and drivers and informed the general public that they can contact the ward offices or also call on the helpline numbers for further information.
