Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner Jammu asked everyone to submit arms without valid licence within 10 days or face action.

“Whereas, this office vide No. 50-55/DMJ/22 dated 05-08-2022, had directed for deposition of Arms, the licenses of which were not uploaded on NDAL-ALIS portal or did not have a UIN or were issued by SDMs/Tehsildars or not renewed due to whatever reason,” reads a notice issued by Deputy Commissioner Jammu.

“Whereas, it has come to the notice of this office that there still are a number of people possessing weapons despite the above mentioned discrepancies in their Arms licenses,” it reads.

“Now therefore, through the medium of this notice, last opportunity is given to anybody possessing any weapon wherein he/She does not have a valid Arms license to deposit his/her weapon in the Police Station concerned within a period of ten (10) days, failing which, action as warranted under law shall be initiated against that defaulter,” it states further.
