Chief Minister of New Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has said that army should be called in and curfew be imposed in Delhi parts where violence has seen 18 people die.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Kejriwal described the situation in Delhi as “alarming”. He wrote: “I have been in touch wid large no of people whole nite. Situation alarming. Police, despite all its efforts, unable to control situation and instil confidence. Army should be called in and curfew imposed in rest of affected areas immediately. Am writing to Hon’ble HM to this effect.”
At least 18 people have been killed in clashes between two groups in north east Delhi.
