A man reportedly troubled over debt died by hanging himself on the day of his daughter’s wedding in Lucknow, reported India Today.
The deceased, identified as Sunil Dwivedi, was a flour mill operator and a farmer in Mohanlalganj police station area in Lucknow. Sunil had five daughters and only one son, Ankur, in the family. One of his daughters, Navya, was to get married on Sunday.
However, on the day of the wedding, Sunil reportedly came home drunk due to which his family members reprimanded him. He then went to his room. It was when he did not come out of his room till late, his family members went to check on him and found him hanging, reads the report.
According to relatives, Sunil had already taken a loan for the marriage of his three daughters and had to take a loan for the wedding of his fourth daughter as well, which was troubling him.
Police, as per the report, have sent the body for postmortem and further investigations are on.
