The sixth phase of the District Development Council (DDC) elections recorded voter percentage of 8.98 % across different constituencies spread over different districts of Jammu and Kashmir till 9 am today.
As per the figures given by the office of State Election Commissioner, in Kashmir Division, Kupwara has recorded the voting percentage of 5.52%, Bandipora 9.53%, Baramulla 5.06%, Ganderbal 5.39%, Budgam 6.40%, Pulwama 1.81%, Shopian 0.51%, Kulgam 4.09%, and Anantnag 2.40% till 9:00 am.
Similarly, in the Jammu division, Kishtwar recorded a voting percentage of 10.57%, Doda 9.19%, Udhammpur 11.54%, Ramban 8.63%, Reasi 14.57%, Kathua 12.55%, Samba 16.38%, Jammu 15.08%, Rajouri 11.25%, and Poonch 14.56% till 9:00 am.
Moreover, the Kashmir Division recorded an overall polling percentage of 4.58% while Jammu Division recorded 12.73% up to 9:00 am.
In the sixth phase of the DDC elections, voting is being held in thirty-one DDC constituencies, fourteen from Kashmir division and seventeen from Jammu division.
Moreover for smooth conduct of elections, 2071 polling stations, 1208 in Kashmir division and 863 in Jammu division have been setup in this phase, where 748301 electors (390432 male and 357869 female voters) will exercise their right to franchise.(GNS)
