District Magistrate Shopian has on Sunday notified two more villages as Micro-containment zones with immediate effect on detection of COVID positive cases, officials said.

They said that villages Sugan and Heff and Heff Shirmal falling in falling in Tehsil Chitragam have been notified on the directions of District Magistrate Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya.

The inward and outward movement to the affected village has been strictly restrained and people asked to stay indoors and all the adjacent villages (to the notified villages) have been declared as buffer zones, they told Srinagar-based news agency Global News Service (GNS).

Among a host of other measures, the officers of the line departments have been asked to ensure the availability of basic facilities to the affected populace till further orders, they added.

It is pertinent to mention here that the fresh notification has came a day after two villages – Urapara Nagbal falling in Tehsil Chitragam and Dobipora falling in Tehsil Barbugh (Imamsahib) – were declared as Micro-containment zones. (GNS)
