Srinagar: As the cases of novel COVID-19 grow in Jammu and Kashmir, the son and wife of an advisor to the lieutenant governor have tested positive for the virus, the News18 quoted the officials saying on Monday.

As per the officials, the advisor has gone into self-quarantine at the super-speciality hospital in Reasi district where his son and wife are being kept at an isolation ward.

Both the son and wife had returned from Delhi a few days back and were staying at a guest house, as per the reports. Officials have confirmed that contact tracing is also being done at the guest house and samples will be collected.

The results of their samples came on Sunday night and they had tested positive for the disease, said the officials.

So far 1621 people have tested positive for the virus in Jammu and Kashmir and 23 have died.

The medical officials have also taken the samples of the advisor for testing. The reports are awaited.
