Srinagar: A senior surgeon at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar, and two policemen were among sixty-seven fresh cases of coronavirus infections in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. These cases took J-K’s COVID-19 tally to 4574.
Among the fresh cases, 13 were reported from Anantnag, two cases each in Kulgam and Baramulla, eight in Srinagar, one each in Kupwara and Rajouri, four in Bandipora, three each in Budgam, Udhampur, Doda, nine in Pulwama, eleven in Jammu, and six in Poonch.
Dr. G H Yatoo, Nodal Officer Coronavirus Control Measures at SKIMS, told a local news agency, Global News Agency, that out of the samples processed at the viral diagnostic lab today, twenty-three returned positive for the virus.
Professor Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent SKIMS Soura, told GNS that among them, thirteen are from Anantnag, four from Bandipora, three from Kupwara, two from Srinagar, and one from Budgam. He also confirmed that a senior surgeon at the tertiary care hospital Soura tested positive for the virus.
The Kupwara cases include A 50-year-old female from Satkochi and two males, aged 24 and 34, from Gulgam Kupwara.
Dr Riyaz Untoo, Principal SKIMS Bemina, told GNS that out of the samples processed, eight tested positive—seven from Srinagar and one from Budgam. (GNS)
