Srinagar: A senior doctor at Srinagar’s Chest Disease Hospital (CDH) has tested positive for the coronavirus pathogen last night, reported local newswire Global News Service.

The senior doctor is a leading pulmonologist and department head at the hospital designated for treatment of COVID-19 disease.

Besides the senior doctor, GNS reported, a dentist posted at the government medical college in Srinagar has also tested positive for the virus.

Several doctors in Kashmir have so far tested positive for the disease. Currently, there are more than 2600 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir of which 31 – 27 from the Kashmir Valley and four from the Jammu division – have died of the disease.
