COVID-19: Nine more patients recover, discharged from Srinagar hospitals

Srinagar : Nine persons, who were hospitalized, after testing positive for Coronavirus last month, were discharged from the two Srinagar hospitals today, after repeatedly testing negative for the infection, they had contracted.

Nodal Officer for Coronavirus at SKIMS Soura, Dr Ghulam Hasan Itoo told that 4 patients were discharged from the hospital after their recovery from lethal Covid-19 infection. He added that three patients hail from Srinagar while one is residing in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Head of Department Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar, Dr Naveed Nazir said that five patients were also discharged from the hospital. “Five more patients recovered from Covid-19 and were discharged,” he said.

Dr Naveed added that among the five patients who were discharged from the hospital, 3 are from Budgam and 2 are from Srinagar.

The total number of positive Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir stand at 324, with 54 reported from the Jammu region while 282 are from Kashmir.

Among the 324 Covid-19 cases Srinagar has highest rate of active as well as recovery cases. 16 patients from Srinagar have recovered from this disease and at present there are 59 cases. 10 patients from North Kashmir’s Bandipora have also recovered followed by Shopian 2, Udhampur 4,  Budgam and Jammu 3 while one patient each has recovered in Pulwama, Rajouri and Kishtwar.

Srinagar has 59 active positive cases followed by Banipora 63, Baramulla 41, Kupwara 27, Shopian 20, Ganderbal 14, Budgam 5, Kulgam 5, Pulwama 2, Anantnag 1, Jammu 23, Udhampur 15, Rajouri 2 and Samba 4.

Among the 324 positive cases, 282 are active, 47 have recovered and 5 have died due to this lethal infection. (KNT)
