COVID-19: Man who ran away from Srinagar hospital traced, quarantined

Srinagar: A person, with travel history to Saudi Arabia, who ran away from Chest Disease (CD) Hospital Srinagar as medicos were preparing to take his sample for coronavirus test as been traced and quarantined.

Sources said that the person, who was advised by the district authorities to visit the hospital as a part of precautionary measure, reported to CD hospital today.

A resident of Padshahi Bagh Srinagar, the person was prescribed to undergo chest X-Ray and other tests including one for coronavirus. “He ran away from the hospital, leaving hospital staff to raise alarm.” They said that the hospital authorities to take up the issue with district administration. Later “technical surveillance team traced the person.” A doctor confirmed to that the man has been traced and quarantined.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Choudhary also confirmed that the man has been traced and quarantined. “Such people should face culpable homicide charges,” he tweeted. (GNS)
