India has recorded 1,206 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the fatality count to 407,173.
The country recorded 42,766 new coronavirus infections in a single day, lowest daily count in nearly four months, pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 30,795,716, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday.
The active number of Covid-19 cases in the country is 4,55,033 while 29,933,538 people have recovered from the virus so far.
So far, the world has reported 186,889,177 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic broke with 4,030,974 deaths. The US remains the worst-hit country, followed by India, Brazil, France and Russia.
