India recorded 723 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the fatality count to 402,758.
The country recorded 39,796 new coronavirus infections in a single day, pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 30,585,229, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.
The active number of Covid-19 cases in the country is 4.82 lakh while 29,700,430 people have recovered from the virus so far.
So far, the world has reported 184,573,165 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic broke with 3,993,577 deaths. The US remains the worst-hit country, followed by India, Brazil, France and Russia.
