India recorded 211,298 new coronavirus infections in a single day, pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 27,369,093, while the deaths crossed the 3-lakh mark, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.
The death count climbed to 315,235 with 3,847 daily deaths, the data updated at 8 am showed. However, the count is believed to be vastly undercounted. The active number of Covid-19 cases in the country is 24,19,907.
Globally, there are 169,057,711 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 3,511,555 deaths. The US remains the worst-hit country with 33,969,295 , followed by India, Brazil, France and Turkey.
