India recorded 1,358 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the fatality count to 3,90,660.
The country recorded 50,848 new coronavirus infections in a single day, pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,00,28,709, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.
The active number of Covid-19 cases in the country is over 6,43,194 while 2.89 crore people have recovered from the virus so far.
So far, the world has reported 179,933,626 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic broke with 3,891,246 deaths. The US remains the worst-hit country, followed by India, Brazil, France and Turkey.
