The coronavirus continues to spread fear in Jammu division with authorities sealing two police stations and a private nursing home as a “precautionary measure” to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.

Unnamed official sources told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a Probationary Sub Inspector (PSI) posted in Arnia police station of RS Pura of Jammu tested positive for COVID-19 after which the police station was sealed and entire staff has been quarantined.

“The PSI was relieved two days ago for further joining in SKPA Udhampur to join the remaining part of training but before moving to police academy, he was tested for a fatal virus and his reports came as positive,” said unnamed official sources.

The police have dedicated a police post located nearby police station for entertaining all kinds of complaints from the area of jurisdiction of Arnia police station while the original police station has been sealed and closed for all kinds of public movement.

Another police station at Janipur, Jammu was also sealed on Sunday afternoon after an official posted there was tested positive for the deadly virus, officials said.

Meanwhile, a private nursing institute located in Talab Tillo area of Jammu has been sealed by authorities after a pregnant woman who was admitted there for treatment was tested positive. (KNO)
