Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir has recorded fourteen new patients of COVID-19 on Friday. While death toll has mounted to five, the overall tally of the COVID-19 cases in J-K has gone up to 328.

Official sources said that among the new positive cases, nine are from Bandipora, three from Shopian, and two from Kupwara district.

From fifty-two reported cases by the end of last month, J-K reached a cumulative tally of 106 cases on 5 April. Till date, the officially confirmed tally stands at 328 — fifty-four in Jammu and 274 in Kashmir. Five people have died due to the infection in the J-K while thrity-eight — nine in Jammu and twenty-nine in Kashmir divisions have recovered and discharged, leaving the active cases in Kashmir to 241 and forty-four in Jammu.

On Thursday, 58,076 travellers and people in contact with suspected cases were under surveillance which include 7,463 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 265 in hospital quarantine, 272 in hospital isolation, and 29,366 under home surveillance. Besides, 20706 persons have completed their surveillance period. (GNS)
