A 20-year-old MBBS student from Srinagar has died of ‘unascertained’ cause in Jammu, officials on Thursday morning said.

They said that one Yameen, 20, pursuing his MBBS degree from ASCOMS Batra, putting up at Asarabad Flat Sidhra was brought to GMC in unconscious condition on Wednesday evening. However the boy was declared dead on arrival by the doctors there, they told GNS adding the cause of death was however not immediately ascertained.

The deceased is said to be a resident of Peer Bagh Srinagar.

Confirming the death of the student, Police Post Incharge Sidhra Jammu Shakil Ahmad told GNS that an Inquiry Officer has been deputed for verification into the incident. “Investigations are on to ascertain the cause of death of the student”, the official said. (GNS)
