A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot himself dead with his service rifle in Ashmuqam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said on Friday.
An official said that a BSF personnel shot himself with his service rifle during Yatra duty at JNV Ashmuqam.
He said that the deceased personnel was from Assam and was posted with 108 F Coy battalion.
He further said that soon after he shot himself, his colleagues shifted him to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The official said that further investigation in this regard has been taken up. (KNO)
