Srinagar : An unknown intruder was shot dead on Tuesday by Border security forces in Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A local news gathering agency Global News Service quoting unnamed officials reported
that at about 1415hr an individual was observed moving suspiciously across the fence ahead of Post at Dhulanja Coy/70 Bn of BSF.

The intruder was challenged on which he hid behind a tree. On warning that he would be fired upon if he didn’t come out with hands above his head.

The official further said, that the intruder came out and was asked to walk towards the fence, with due caution. Subsequently the intruder came close to the fence and threw some papers across the fence. The same were being checked.

The intruder was asked to strip for closer search. He ran back and after repeated verbal warnings the intruder was shot by the BSF sentry. The intruder had fallen on the ground across fence and likely to be fatal, the official said.(GNS)
