A Bomb Disposal Squad diffused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) after it was detected by joint teams of the government forces in the Tulibal area of Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday morning.
Officials told a local news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of J-K’s Sopore Police along with Army’s 52 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF detected an IED on Sopore-Kupwara bypass road at Tulibal in Sopore town.
Shortly after the detection of the IED, traffic was halted and the movement of people was restricted, they said.
A Bomb Disposal Squad was rushed to spot and destroyed the IED without causing any harm.
Meanwhile, a case in this regard has been registered and an investigation has been set into motion, they added. (KNO)
