Suspected militants on Sunday fired upon a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activist in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Unnamed official sources told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) the militants fired upon a BJP activist, identified as Abdul Hamid Najar, 38, son of Jamal Najar resident of Moheindpora.

They said that the militants fired upon him near the railway station when he was on a morning walk, leaving him injured.

He has received bullet injuries in the abdomen and has been shifted to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital for treatment, the official said. (GNS)
