A top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammad was among the two militants killed in a gunfight in Wanigam Payeen area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

Unnamed official sources told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) that two JeM militants were killed in a gunfight.

As per the sources, the killed militants were identified as Abrar alias Langoo from Pakistan and Amir Siraj from Sopore. However official confirmation is yet to come.

Siraj had gone missing on 24 June, this year, and was said to be an ace footballer. Earlier after eight hours of the standoff between militants and the government forces in Wanigam area, the militants were tracked and subsequently engaged. (GNS)
