Body of an army trooper was recovered in Gulmarg on Saturday, more than eight months after he was swept away by a snow avalanche along the Line of Control in the area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Unnnamed official sources told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) that the body of the trooper, Rajinder Singh of Army 11 Gadwal was recovered at Roshni 1st post Gumarg along the LoC today. The trooper, they said, was missing since 8 January this year after coming under snow avalanche.

“The body is being brought to police station Gulmarg for further necessary action,” the officials added. (GNS)
