Srinagar: An Indian army officer and two soldiers were killed in Galwan Valley during a face-off that took place last night.

In the “violent face-off”, as per the army statement, the Indian side lost an officer and two soldiers. Senior military officials of two sides currently meeting at the venue to defuse the situation.

“During the de-escalation process underway in the Galwan Valley, a violent face-off took place yesterday night with casualties. The loss of lives on the Indian side includes an officer and two soldiers. Senior military officials of the two sides are currently meeting at the venue to defuse the situation,” the army said in a statement.

India and China have fought a brief border war in 1962 and have not been able to settle their border despite two decades of talks.
