Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK) on Monday welcomed the initiative of the Jammu Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) for organising the two-day workshop of translating textbooks on different subjects up to the primary level in Kashmiri language.

A two-day workshop was organized by the JKBOSE today to initiate translation of textbooks of environmental studies from 3rd to 5th standard and Mathematics from 1st to 5th standard in four official languages including Urdu, Dogri, Kashmiri and Hindi.

In a statement, AMK said, “Consequent upon Kashmiri language attaining the status of official language and the scope of its preservation and promotion unfolding in light of the New Education Policy 2020 the first step forward has been taken by the Jammu Kashmir Board of School Education by organising two day workshop for translating textbooks on different subjects upto primary level in Kashmiri language.”

“This good news comes when International mother language day is round the corner and there could be no better gift than this by BOSE for mother language lovers.” the statement read.

The statement added: “While placing on record our gratitude to Prof. Veena Pandita Chairperson, Director Academics Prof. Farooq Ahmad Peer and all other important functionaries of the Board.

“Adbee Markaz Kamraz extends full support and assistance to the Board for such positive steps. We are hopeful that together we can do what is required for the preservation and promotion of our mother language Kashmiri,” said the President of AMK, Mohd. Amin Bhat in the statement issued on this occasion.
