Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar on Friday said that as J-K marks the third anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, there has been no hartal call or any stone pelting incident at a gunfight site in the last three years.

Kumar said that after abrogation of Article 370, neither any hartal call was witnessed, nor any stone pelting incident at a gunfight site.

He also said that there has been no processions in funeral and burial over the last three years.

Kumar said that 284 people including 174 police and government forces personnel and 110 civilians were killed in militancy related incidents in Kashmir Valley post 5 August 2019.

“As against this, 290 government forces personnel and 191 civilians were killed during the period from 5 August 2016 to 4 August 2019,” he said.

The ADGP said that six police and government forces personnel were killed in law and order situation from 5 August 2016 to 4 August 2019, while the number is zero after abrogation of article 370.

He also said that 438 law and order incidents were reported from 5 August 2019 to 4 August 2022, while the number of such incidents during 5 August 2016 to 4 August 2019 was 3686. (KNS)
