The Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura here in Srinagar has directed non-local staff to shift to the campus of the hospital from their respective accomadations as a ‘precautionary mesaure’.
SKIMS has made it clear that those who will reside outside the Institute will stay at his or her own risk.
Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the SKIMS has come up with this instruction after attacks on non-locals in parts of Kashmir Valley.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan while talking to The Kashmir Walla confirmed the developement, “As a precautionary measure the directive has been issued and that there is nothing sensational in it,” Jan said.
According to KNT he has instructed that all the doctors and nursing para medical staff from outside the Valley working at SKIMS who are residing out of the Institute Campus are requested to shift immediately to SKIMS Campus, “They need to contact Estates Department who have arranged for their accommodation within the campus.”
The arrangements have been on the directions of the Government and anybody who continues to reside outside the Institute Campus even after these instructions will be staying there at his / her own risk and responsibility.
Non-local staff working at SKIMS are staying in different parts of Srinagar and now Estates Department have arranged accommodation for them inside the Institute. (with inputs from KNT)
