Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker who is known for standing up against oppression has shown support to Palestinians who have been bombarded by Israeli forces.
At least 22 people including 9 children have been killed in the Gaza Strip following airstrikes by Israeli forces.
Bhakser while taking to her Twitter handle called out the Israeli aggression and said that cause of Palestine was not an Islamic cause, “The cause of #Palestine and justice for Palestinians isn’t an Islamic cause.. at least it shouldn’t solely be that.. it is first & foremost an anti imperialist, anti colonial & anti apartheid cause.. & that’s why it should concern us all, even non-Muslims.”
She was later trolled by right wing Hindu who have shown support to the Israel. Bhasker was accused of not knowing anything about the Israel-Palestinian conflict, however, she shut down her critics after she posted her pictures clicked in Gaza which are almost a decade old.
In one post, she shared a picture of her holding the flag of Palestine and showing her middle finger. She wrote, “Buffer zone. Gaza Strip. January 2011. Showing much deserved middle finger to the Israeli ‘wall’. Israel has blockaded Gaza (land, air and sea) since 2007. The economic & human cost of this has been horrible & huge. Gaza Strip is basically one big open air jail. #FreePalestine.”

The Veer Di Wedding star also called Israel a terrorist state which further angered the right wing in India who resorted to abuse and name calling, “Israel is an apartheid state. Israel is a terrorist state. Nuff said.” Bhasker wrote.
