Srinagar: One militant was killed after a cordon and search operation (CASO) during a gunfight with the government forces in Wanigam Payeen area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.
Unnamed official sources told a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS) that after eight hours of searches in the Wanigam area, the militants were tracked and subsequently engaged in a gunfight.
During the exchange of firing, one unidentified militant was killed. Earlier in the morning, the agency reported that some speculative shots were fired towards the suspected spot. However, there was no response from militants. The gunfight was on-going till this report filed. (GNS)
