An army trooper allegedly committed suicide in Rangreth area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday, reported a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS).
Unnamed official sources told GNS that the personnel was identified as Lance Naik Omprakash, who shot himself with his service rifle at Old Air Field and died on the spot.
However, the reason behind his actions could not be ascertained immediately, they added. Meanwhile, an unnamed police officer said that the proceedings have been launched in this regard. (GNS)
