Jammu and Kashmir police have claimed to have busted a Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) hideout in Zainapora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday.
In a statement to the media, the police said that based on specific information regarding the presence of LeT militants in orchards of Dachoo Zainapora, Shopian police along with the army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles, and 178 BN Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a search operation during early morning hours and during search one sloping hideout of the LeT militants was busted and subsequently destroyed.
The huge quantity of ammunition like two UBGL grenades, three Chinese grenades, a AK-47 magazine along with 20 AK-47 rounds, a radioset, eatable items et cetera were recovered from the busted hideout.
The statement further stated that the incriminating material has been taken into the police custody for further investigation.
Case FIR Number 99 /2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Zainpora, the statement said. (GNS)
