64 mutton shops sealed in Srinagar: FCS&CA

In view of complaints regarding overcharging by mutton sellers, a special drive was launched in various areas of Srinagar city by enforcement squad.

According to a statement, under the supervision of  Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Assistant Director Mushtaq Ahmad Wani as many as 64 mutton shops have been sealed from last one week vis-a-vis a fine of Rs 27,000 have also been imposed on 17 erring traders.

In the past 5 days, an amount of Rs 55200.00 (Fifty five thousand and two hundred) has been collected as fine from 197 erring traders for violating E.C. Act across the valley. Besides, 41 establishments also stand sealed.
