A 21-year old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Utrasoo area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday, reported a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO). This is the sixth case of suicide in the past eight days in Kashmir.

An unnamed official told the agency that the man, whose name has been withheld, from Kandaji Brariangan hanged himself at his home this morning.

The official said that the reason for the suicide was not immediately known. “Police have registered a case and initiated proceedings in this regard,” he said.

As per details available with KNO in the last eight days, six persons, including five teenagers, ended their lives by allegedly committing suicide in Kashmir Division—(KNO)
