A 21-year-old youth was found dead in Dalgate area of Srinagar district on Friday.
An official said that the body of youth was found near HB light house Dalgate.
The deceased has been identified as Tanveer Ahmad Khan son of Mohammad Lateef Khan, a resident of Sumlar Bandipora.
As per preliminary investigation it seems that the boy died of drowning, an official said, adding that dead body has been taken to SMHS Hospital for medico legal formalities.
Inquest proceedings u/s 174 CRPC have been initiated in this regard, he said. (KS)
