Britain has recorded more than 50,000 new daily coronavirus infections, the largest count since mid-January, quoting the official data released on Friday BBC reported.
The country reported 51,870 coronavirus cases in the latest 24-hour period, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Britain to 5,332,371, as per the official figures.
The country also recorded another 49 coronavirus-related deaths, taking the fatality count to 128,642.
As per the BBC report, the highest number of daily cases the UK has recorded so far is 68,053 on 8 January.
