Srinagar: A 17-year-old girl and a 32-year-old woman died due to cloudburst at Bhatwari area of Chatrao in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
Reports reaching here said that the duo namely Gulshana Bano (17) daughter of Bashir Ahmad and Hajra Begum (32) wife of Jameel Ahmad got trapped after the cloudburst struck Bhatwari area. In the meantime, the flashfloods triggered off due to the natural calamity and washed away both of them resulting in their on the spot death.
Soon after the incident, a police team rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies of the duo.
A police officer also confirmed the death of the two women. He said that after conducting all legal medico-formalities the bodies of the deceased were handed over to legal heirs for last rites. (GNS)
