Army Saturday said that a group of militants lobbed two grenades in the middle of the night on a patrolling party near Yarigund Kawoosa area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

An army official said that soldiers from Gaggarpora based camp were patrolling in the area when two militants lobbed two grenades on them. “A grenade went off with a huge sound while another grenade didn’t explode and later was diffused by Bomb Disposal Squad,” he said and added that no damage was reported in the blast.

The incident occurred during the intervening night of 2AM of Friday and Saturday.
