Srinagar: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sunday said that tomorrow’s shutdown will show readiness of people for all out agitation.
The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), of which Mirwaiz Umar is part, has called for two day shutdown in Kashmir against the hearing to abrogate Article 35-A, which gives “permanent resident” status to people of Jammu and Kashmir. It also bars non-state people from holding any property in the state.
“By observing an exemplary protest strike today, people of J&K have send a clear message to GOI that their agenda to change the demographic character of the state and its disputed nature will not be tolerated,” Mirwaiz Umar tweeted.
He added, “Tomorrow’s protest strike will send a sterner message of peoples resistance and readiness for agitation.”
