Tanghdar gunfight: Clashes in Pulwama, family demands body

Clashes continue between the youth and government forces today in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the alleged killing of Lajoora missing youth in Tanghdar sector on May 25.

Eyewitnesses said that the forces have been deployed across the Pulwama town, while as stone throwing clashes continue in the area. The government forces have retaliated with resorting to teargas shelling to disperse the protestors.

At least one person has been reported injured, who was shifted to a hospital.

On 25 May, the army had claimed killing of five militants along LoC in Tangdar sector who had tried to infiltrate and circulated the pictures of the bodies.

The army had called the militants as foreigners. But among the five, two have been claimed by families in Pulwam and Kulgam districts, who are demanding the return of the bodies.
