Suspected militants attack Indian forces in Kashmir; 3 injured

Suspected militants attacked a Border Security Force (BSF) convoy of India, in the summer capital Srinagar, on Thursday at 7.30 am.

Three BSF personnel were injured in the attack, one of whom is reported to be critical. The attack took place on  the vehicle (JK05 7615) of BSF’s 08 Battalion near Methan Crossing, Chanapora- 6 kilometers from city center Lal Chowk. The vehicle was on way to Pantha Chowk- in the outskirts of Srinagar.

The injured have been identified as Constable Hem Singh, Constable K Kalita, Constable Vijay Shakia. Eight persons were traveling in the vehicle.

Earlier, on March 13 an Indian paramilitary personnel camp in Srinagar was attacked by militants in which five personnel and two militants were killed.
