Sopore shuts on second day to mourn killing of militants

Srinagar: For the second consecutive day a complete shutdown is being observed in north Kashmir’s Sopore area of Baramulla district to mourn the militant killings on Thursday.

As per reports, all shops and other business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads. Locals were also seen visiting the homes of militants to pay condolences.

In an overnight gunfight with the government forces in Brath Kalan area of Sopore, Owais Ahmad Bhat alias Abu Bakar of Gund Brath and Tahir Ramzan Dar alias Abu Abdullah of Saidpora, both were killed on Thursday.

The due were associated with Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit.

Class work remained suspended in all the educational institutions in Sopore as per an order issued by the authorities last night.
