Snake found in water pipe in Harwan area

In a bizarre incident, a 10 feet long snake was found in the water pipe at Theed locality of Harwan on August 06,  thereby blocking the drinking water facility to the whole area.

Since the area was witnessing water crisis for a long time, locals took it upon themselves to inspect the water pipes.

While inspecting  the pipes, the locals  found a long, dead and semi-decomposed snake inside the pipeline.

Earlier authorities had said that there was no water shortage and that  some blocking might have stopped the drinking water.

“This is what we were drinking!” Said a visibly furious local, Asif Rasool.

Locals allege that the water supplied to their area is contaminated, ” This is ‘drinking water’ only in papers else we only receive contaminated water. We are always at risk of getting water-borne diseases,” Asif added.

An official  while acknowledging the incident said that they will look into the matter and action will be taken accordingly, “ the future course of preventive measures will be taken in order to avoid such incidents,” he said.
