Anjuman-e-Islamia Bhadarwah (AIB) on Saturday called for a shutdown in Chenab valley following the killings of seven civilians in forces’ firing in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district
In a statement issued to the press, AIB president Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh termed the killings as “most heinous and opening up of a bloody war against unarmed civilians” in Kashmir.
Sheikh urged the people to observe shutdown on Sunday in solidarity with the pro-freedom leadership and innocent people of Kashmir.
Seven civilians were killed in government forces action in the southern Kashmir district.
Earlier in the day three militants and one army man was killed after a encounter broke out between militants and government forces in Kharpora, Sirnoo area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday morning.
