Shujaat Bukhari was an easy target, says Mehbooba Mufti

Former chief minister and People’s Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti, has said that veteran journalist Shujaat Bukhari was an easy target to be killed.

Bukhari was assassinated on 14 June outside his office in Srinagar by two unknown gunmen.

While speaking to India TV, Mufti said, “Terrorists entered our security force camps and attacked. Shujaat Bukhari was an easy target.”

Adding further, Mufti said that to stop mayhem in Kashmir, starting dialogue with Pakistan is must as there is no other way out.

The PDP-BJP coalition government led by Mufti as chief minister came to an end when the BJP pulled out on 19 June.
