SHRC seeks report from DC, SSP over pellet injury to Hiba Nisar

The Jammu and Kashmir State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) Tuesday issued a notice to deputy commissioner and senior superintendent of police to file a detailed compliance report as to how Hiba Nisar  an 18 month child was hit by pellets.

Justice Bilal Nazki asked in a notice  to the SSP and DC Shopian came in response to a petition filed by a Rights activist Muhammad Ahsan Untoo under case number SHRC/404/SPN/2018.

Hiba Nisar, an 18-month-old girl termed as youngest pellet victim of Kashmir suffered grave pellet injuries in her right eye during forces action at Shopian when she was in her mother’s lap inside her home.

According to the petitioner, the pellets have ruptured the eye-ball of the girl’s right eye and she has to undergo a series of surgeries to regain her vision.

The petitioner claimed  that the chance of Hiba regaining her vision in her eye remain low .
