Shopian encounter: Four more militant bodies recovered, toll five

The joint team of government forces on Saturday recovered four more militant bodies during an ongoing search operation at Kilora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

The gunfight broke out on Friday late evening after a joint team of army and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation at Kilora area following specific information about the presence of some militants in the area, a police officer had said.

Body of one militant identified as Umar Malik of LeT was recovered last night, he said.

Today morning four more bodies of militants were recovered taking the death toll of militants so far to five, he said.

The official said the operation in the area is still going on. (GNS)
