Srinagar: Real Kashmir FC football team players on Friday alleged that during practice in Kerala ground, they were asked to vacate from the ground.

The players alleging that the Gokulam Kerala FC treated them badly during the practice and took the matter to I-league officials ahead of their match in Kozhikode tomorrow.

Taking to social networking site Twitter, the RKFC uploaded a video in which a man has ordered the players to leave the ground. “RKFC head coach and staff being asked to leave training ground. ‘This is Kerala not Kashmir’ @realkashmirfc  told. Strange,” Real Kashmir FC tweeted.

In a video one could hear one of the players telling the groundsman, “This is the way you are talking with the guest team.” But the man pays no attention to his words and continuously telling them to “get out” from the ground. “Do not play on our pitch,” the man is heard saying in another video.

Real Kashmir FC uploaded next video of the training pitch in which the condition of the ground is not good. The pitch had a patch of grass where the players were doing the warm-up. The rest of the ground had no grass and looked in a pathetic state.

On the other hand, Gokulam Kerala FC have cleared the incident after giving the sequence of events and alleging poor behavior and irresponsibility on the part of Real Kashmir FC. Gokulam said that they had arranged for a bus for the club officials to the Medical College training ground — a bus they never took and that they never arrived for training at Medical College.

Real Kashmir FC have to play next match against Gokulam FC after a thumping 6-1 win against Shillong Lajong at home that propelled them to the third spot in the league table. Gokulam, on the other hand, are placed 7th in the table.

This is Real Kashmir’s first season in the I-League after winning the second division last year while this is the second season when Gokulam are playing in the I-League.

Real Kashmir FC took to Twitter to lash out at Gokulam for the ill-treatment their officials made and abused the former’s coaching staff and officials, how they had no transportation till the training facility and the training pitch was in tatters.

Gokulam further said that RKFC invaded the EMS stadium where training was not allowed a day before the match. Gokulam also alleged that Real Kashmir officials manhandled the groundsman and used bad language.

Gokulam also particularly picked at the training ground video that Real Kashmir put and said this was only the warm-up area of the training facility and not the ground.

Meanwhile, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah appealed the local authorities to intervene to the matter and ensure the safety of players and staff.

Taking to social networking site Twitter, Omar wrote: “Have been told @realkashmirfc are facing numerous difficulties down south in the run-up to their clash against Gokulam Kerala FC to the point where they are unsure they will be safe playing tomorrow. Request local authorities to intervene to ensure the safety of players & staff.”
