At least eleven civilians were injured in clashes with the government forces near gunfight site in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday, Greater Kashmir reported.

According to the report eleven of the injured were brought to Public Health Centre (PHC) Rajpora for treatment,

“Ten were hit by pellets and they were being treated at the facility while one with head injury, most probably caused by a stone, was referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for further treatment,” a health official at PHC Rajpora was quoted as saying by GK.

As per reports youth took to streets and threw stones on the forces as soon as the news of the gunfight in Hajin Payeen village spread in the area.

The forces, they said, responded by firing tear gas and pellets.

Earlier,  four militants belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad were killed in the gunfight that broke out after the forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area.

The identity of the slain militants was not immediately known.
