“Possible Fidayeen attack in Kashmir,” Intel agencies send series of alerts


High alert sounded in Jammu and Kashmir from 1 June to 3 June has come in wake of the threat of Fidayeen attacks in Kashmir Valley, as the intelligence agencies have sent a series of alert-notes to various other security agencies in the Valley.

According to sources, one such note of alert shared to police and all other agencies mentioned that the high alert has been sounded across Kashmir Valley “in view of Jung-e-Badar” from 1 June 2018 to 03 June 2018 and there are “inputs of Fidayeen attacks.”

In other similar security alert, it is noted that militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad is planning to attack the government forces in the outskirts of Srinagar and have been cautioned to “stay alert.”

A third alert sent from the Police Control Room (Kashmir) has also reads that there are credible intelligence inputs of an attack.

Situation in the Valley has been relatively calm since the ceasefire announcement ahead of Ramzan two weeks ago. However, a series of grenade attacks have taken place across the Valley in last few days.
